Take Time to Recharge

“Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from cares which will not withdraw from us.” Maya Angelou

A life lived with time to reflect, replenish, and recharge is surely one to be emulated. It’s admirable to want to strive to accomplish our goals, help others, and stay committed to our responsibilities. It’s even more admirable to recognize when our mind, body and soul are due for a break. When we push ourselves for long periods of time, without concern for our well-being, we make mistakes, are easily frustrated, and fail to give ourselves the love that we deserve. Learn to Listen to what your body needs, both physically and mentally.

Make a decision to put yourself first. When our cups are full, we simply have more to give. Choosing to show up more whole allows us to think more clearly, be more focused and provide more value within our commitments. Many of us believe that we can’t afford to take time to recharge, but the reality is that we can’t afford not to.

Ask Yourself:

  1. When was the last time that I took time out to recharge?

  2. What one thing can I do to activate greater self-love?

  3. When will I choose myself over the world?
